Self Care & Mindfulness

Self care is SO important. A lot of people don't realize that self care and mindfulness go hand-in-hand.

I’ve mentioned this before, but baths are literally my favorite form of self care! Specifically a mindfulness bath. You can also do this in your showers! It’s just something about having myself locked in the bathroom that makes it so relaxing as well as the water warming my skin that makes me able to easily be mindful and present.

So what is a mindfulness bath and how can you do this?

When laying in your bathtub, feel the sensation of the rise and fall of your body as you breathe in deeply and exhaling gently and slowly. Feel the warm water holding you and express gratitude to the water, the scents you smell, and anything else that you can find gratitude for around you.

If you have troubles fitting this practice into your bath or shower time, there's so many other areas of life where you can fit in mindfulness:

Feed your body something healthy and think thoughts like “I am so grateful for this food that is feeding my beautiful healthy body” or when you’re exercising, you can say to yourself “I am just so grateful that my body is able to move like this. I’m grateful to be able to work out with ease and to treat my healthy body with what it deserves.”

No matter how busy your life is, there's always a place where you can fit in mindfulness & self care. Try to fit it into your day at least once and see if it makes a difference in your overall mood.
